MARMAPS

The MARMAPS project “Open environmental eFolio for joint maritime spatial planning and conservation of the valuable Black Sea Basin marine ecosystems”  in which the NGO Mare Nostrum is a partner, has the general objective of raising awareness among target groups about the importance of conserving the valuable ecosystems of the Black Sea. The project duration is 18 months.

The new MRMAPS project has the following objectives:

  •  Involving target groups in creating a decision support system for maritime spatial planning to support measures for the conservation and restoration of marine biodiversity.
  •  Improving access to open scientific data and tools through the environmental electronic eFolio.
  •  Engaging stakeholders in capacity development, ensuring the adoption of the conservation prioritization framework for marine protected areas.
  •  Exploring opportunities for cross-border collaboration.

MARMAPS “Open environmental eFolio for joint maritime spatial planning and conservation of the valuable Black Sea Basin marine ecosystems” is funded by Interreg Next Black Sea Basin, co-financed by the European Union, and has a total budget of €498,358.
