GreenMascot

The Black Sea Basin region is increasingly facing marine pollution and the negative effects of land-based activities, including sports-related ones. At the same time, the involvement of local authorities and the sports community in environmental protection is low, and resources to promote sustainable practices are limited.

GreenMascot is a project that aims to strengthen the role of local administrations, sports organizations, and communities in promoting sustainability in sport. Through training sessions, support materials, and transnational cooperation, the project contributes to increasing environmental responsibility across the entire region.

Project partners:

Youth Sport Club Varna (Bulgaria)

Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club (Turkey)

Municipality of the Heroic City of Naoussa (Greece)

Ecological Non-Governmental Organization Mare Nostrum (Romania)

GreenMascot “Strengthening BSB Local Capacities for Environmental Awareness in and through Sport” is funded by Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin, co-financed by the European Union, with a total budget of €499,436.00.
