SUSTAINABLE ROOTS FOR YOUNGSTERS, AN IMPULSE FOR SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITIES
A project implemented in 2017, which aimed to train youngsters from disadvantaged areas of Constanţa County

Through this project, implemented between July and October 2017, 10 high-school students from Cogealac and Cobadin participated in a 6 day-camp, where they learned how to be successful role models for other youngsters in their communities. The students were trained on many themes, such as project writing, modern educational methods for sustainable development, non-formal education, communication and personal development. The workshops were meant to raise the civic initiative level of the youngsters and they later trained another 100 students on themes they chose themselves.

The main purpose of the project was to develop the abilities of the beneficiaries and to offer them a more complex vision on sustainable development opportunities that they have in their own communities. The feedback and results were very encouraging, as some of the youngsters even decided on the faculty they want to go to. They pushed their own limits and they increased their self-confidence. Also, some of the participants became interested in this subject, they wanted to get involved in volunteering activities or to be more active in decission making processes in their schools or even their communities.

“Sustainable roots for youngsters, an impulse for successful communities” was a project financed by the Youth and Sports Ministry, through the County Sports and Youth Agency from Constanţa.
